An exhibition showcasing 100 photos featuring the beauty of Vietnamese women created by photographer Van Tho will open at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi on August 6.
The exhibition, co-organised by the Vietnam Photographers’ Association and the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), is one of the activities to celebrate the 1,000 th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, and the 80 th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union.
Through the exhibition, photographer Van Tho wants to bring to art lovers portraits of talented Vietnamese women, from senior leaders like former Vice State President Nguyen Thi Binh and Minister of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan to Vietnamese heroic mothers, heroes of the people’s armed forces, scientists, teachers, businesswomen and artists.
Speaking at a press briefing introducing the exhibition in Hanoi on July 28, Tho said that the portraits help reflect the traditional beauty of Vietnamese women.
Van Tho, a former VNA photojournalist, who is nearly 80, has devoted all of his life to the arts and has successfully organised eight individual exhibitions and published four photo collections.
