Nearly 10,000 people joined a walk around Hoan Kiem Lake on June 13 to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi and the 11th National Party Congress.
The participants, including students, athletes, coaches, foreigners and staff from numerous embassies and consulates general walked along the main streets around Hoan Kiem Lake.
Hoang Du, Editor-in-chief of Vietnam Sports Newspaper, head of the organisation board said that the walk is expected to leave a deep impression on the city’s citizens. He added that it is the succession to a similar walk held in Ho Chi Minh City in mid-May that also attracted nearly 10,000 people./.
