Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE)

1. Foundation Date

Hanoi University of Civil Engineering was established on August 8th, 1966.

2. Mandate

The Hanoi University of Civil Engineering is an education and research institution, which provides the education of scientists and technicians at graduate and post- graduate levels in various disciplines of civil engineering. The University is also a scientific and technological research center to bridge the gap of practical production with advanced outcomes of science and technology in the field of civil engineering.

Apart from education, the University also operates a consulting company for scientific research and technological transfer and application of achievements in the field. Teaching staff have also participated in many scientific research projects. Annually, this contingency conducts 10-15 national scientific research projects, 30 at the Ministerial level and hundreds of others at University level. Many of them have been highly evaluated.

Hanoi University of Civil Engineering is one of four universities participating in educating high- qualified engineers of Vietnamese - French Courses. Parallely the University also has French speaking Civil Engineering Courses supported by AUPELF where it is considered as the Institution that has students who defends the theses in French with good quality.

The University today is endeavoring to “build and strive to be a leading and highly qualified education and scientific research center in the field of capital construction, gradually integrating into the regional and international university system in terms of level and quality as well as graduates’ capacity”.
