Ngu Dong - Thi Son (Quyen Son)

Return to national highway 1A, go to Phu Xuyen and keep straight in the south to Gie bridge about 40km, achossing the bridge, visitors will be in Ha Nam province, to the 45km, visitor will meet Dong Van town. Go ahead 5km, turn right in a newly built road, visitors will be in Que town, Kim Bang district.

From the town, take the bank of Day river, visitor will meet an old pagoda: Ba Danh pagoda. From the name, people think that if Ba Danh name is canted of Ba Danh. And if so, there was perhaps a statue of Cham dancing girl. In order to make it clear, visitors welcome to here. Besides it, there is a beautiful cave near it, visitor had better visit. From Que town, acrossing the bridge, visitor will meet Thi Son mountain. It is said that when Ly Thuong Kiet (1019-1105) settled his troops here, wind blow to bring flags up to it top and solved. He gave Quyen Son to this mountain (it means rolled mountain). It is a lime mountain connected to Huong Tich mountain (from here, visitors use boat to go back Day river about 7km to Huong pagoda). Thi Son has many caves. It was discovered the cave population with 5 layers deep inside the mountain. Much strange stalactites that visitor previously came here called them monks sitting to beat wooden fish, reflected philosopher, Ton Ngo Khong beating Bach Cot Tinh, running dears, stretching tigers. They are rather beautiful. Add to it, in some corners of caves, water dropped into the hallow stone creating the sound like the sound of drump comes back from the distance.
In the foot of the mountain, there is a temple dedicated to Ly Thuong Kiet surrounded by green ivory bamboo, so it is called Truc temple. The temple organized annually the festival on 10th of January according to lunar calendar. In festival time, there was boating contest on the Day river and folk song contest for girls. This is a beautifully traditional activity.
The above routine is the shortest one. There is another road longer but more vertical. Visitors can go to Phu Ly town, Ha Nam province a 56km distance from Hanoi, turn right, crossing Hung Phu bridge over Day river, take newly-made road in the west, go ahead about 7km, visitors will be in Ngu Dong – Thi Son. If visitors want to visit Ba Danh pagoda, they will across Que bridge to the easten bank and they will be in the pagoda.
